Only males are affected and the condition is predisposed by either of the following factors—prolonged sexual excitement, infection, increased abdominal pressure, or urinary stones. Depending on the severity of the prolapsed, treatment may not be needed in mild cases however surgery may be needed in severe cases to remove the prolapsed tissue.
