![]() ![]() Dog Health Concerns![]() ![]() Tricuspid Valve DysplasiaDescription: A congenital condition associated with the malformation of the tricuspid (right atrioventricular ) valve of the heart during prenatal development. Malformation results in the backflow of blood towards the right atrium. Affected dogs usually have poor tolerance to exercise, and upon examination, heart murmur is often detected. Diagnosis is made via an echocardiogram, EKG, and X-rays. Severe cases may lead to congestive heart failure. There is no successful treatment for Tricuspid Valve Dysplasia.
