If uncorrected, it may lead to trauma, infection and inflammation. The condition is prevalent among brachycephalic animals. A dog with Trichiasis is observed to be frequently blinking, tearing, and squinting. Mild cases may be given symptomatic treatment however there are cases that demand the administration of ophthalmic drops or antibiotics. Lubricants are also indicated to provide a protective coating for the eye. Surgery or laser treatment may be needed to remove the hairs in serious cases.
