In severe cases it may predispose gastric torsion. Symptoms are non-specific and include fever and vomiting and having a “tight” feeling when touching the abdominal area. Immediate veterinary should be given immediately as Splenic Torsion requires the surgical removal of the spleen. When there is gastric torsion, a gastroplexy is also performed to secure the stomach to the abdominal wall to avoid future incidence of gastric torsion.
