Description: : A skin problem characterized by the appearance of very dense, spiky hair strands commonly found on the hocks and elbows. These abnormal hair growths can also be found on other parts of the dog’s body. Infection of the hair follicles causes pain to the affected dog. When the condition occurs between the paw pads, the dog may refuse to walk because of the pain. Treatment is aimed at removing the thick hair growths and treating the bacterial infection that may be present.
