Description: A congenital eye disorder that often results in the malformation of the retina. It may also occur as a result of viral infection or trauma. The malformation of the retina is manifested by the appearance of folds in the outer layers of the eye tissues. Retinol Folds cause the dog to suffer from vision problems. Cataract formation and retinal detachment may be serious side effects in severe cases leading to irreversible blindness. Diagnosis is based on a complete ophthalmic examination by your veterinarian. There is no successful cure for this congenital disorder.
