Renal Dysplasia results in the failure of the nephrons in the kidney to function. Dogs with the condition are observed to drink excessive amounts of water and a subsequent increase in urination frequency, dehydration, weight loss, anorexia, and vomiting. Diagnostic tests that can help accurately diagnose the disease include urine and blood tests and ultrasonography of the kidneys. Kidney may be indicated in certain cases.
