Description: Dogs suffering from Narcolepsy are observed to engage in excessive sleeping and fatigue during daytime. It is a chronic sleeping disorder that often results in sudden onset of sleepiness. It is thought to be inherited. Episodes of narcolepsy are characterized by sudden collapse, excessive sleeping, and twitching. Medications can be given to keep the dog alert. There is no specific and successful cure of narcolepsy. In some cases, symptoms may gradually disappear with time.
