Description: A genetic disorder brought about by a recessive gene and manifested when breeding two carrier dogs. Although rare, it is a serious condition characterized by the inefficiency of the liver and kidneys to filter and eliminate toxins from the body. The accumulation of toxins reaches the brain resulting in loss of coordination and possibly death. A DNA blood test is used to determine if your dog possesses the recessive gene for Storage Disease. There is no cure for this condition.
