Description: Glaucoma is characterized by the excessive build-up of fluid within the eye leading to increased in intra-ocular pressure that can damage the optic nerve. When left untreated, Glaucoma can lead to progressive loss of vision including blurred vision, blindness, and permanent vision loss. Dogs with glaucoma have dilated pupils, pronounced blood vessels in the eyes, protrusion of the eyeballs and cloudy corneas. Treatment is targeted to include surgery and prescribed medications.
