It is a serious condition where the stomach becomes twisted on both ends thereby blocking passageways to and from the stomach. The most common causes include eating and drinking large quantities in a relatively short period of time. Exercising after a big meal can also predispose Bloat. A dog suffering from Gastric Torsion is often observed to manifest signs of futile attempts to vomit, shallow breathing, gagging, and restlessness. Immediate surgery is needed to correct the abnormal conformation of the stomach.
