Description: Cheyletiella Mites cause mild dermatitis. They are often found attached to the hairs and also recognized as one of the leading cause of dry, scaly skin. A correct diagnosis is made when the mites are found in skin scrapings and when the hairs are scoured using a fine-tooth comb. Another method is to demonstrate the mites via a fecalysis. Pyrethrin shampoos are effective in getting rid of the mites. Other recommended courses of treatment include lime sulfur dips and the application of topical medications.
