Description: An inflammatory condition affecting the digestive system and characterized by progressive malabsorption of nutrients in the intestines leading to diarrhea, loss of protein and poor body weight. The most common causes of Basenji Enterophathy include a sensitive GI tract, bacterial infection, and rarely, cancer of the intestine. The disease is manifested by vomiting, nausea, and chronic diarrhea. There has been no successful cure for this condition, however early diagnosis is very useful in controlling the disease in terms of sound dietary management.
