Description: A hereditary disorder that is caused by a mutation of the gene that is responsible for the development of brain and bone tissue. The condition is characterized by dwarfism with shortened limbs as a result of irregular bone growth. It is often difficult to detect in mild conditions because the dog does not exhibit discomfort or pain. However, severe cases often result in pain and interference or loss of function thus requiring surgery.
